Erin Keuter Laughlin was born in Milton, Florida and raised in North Idaho on a small family ranch. While growing up she was trained in classical piano and played clarinet. She was also known for being an artist, poet and photographer. The interest she had in nature and the environment greatly influenced her life. While most youth in their teen years may have had posters of teen idols that decorated their rooms, Erin had displays of model airplanes and pictures of wildlife.
She graduated from North Idaho College with A.A. Degrees in English, Art History and Sociology. Currently, she lives in North Idaho where she is an administrator for a children's museum. Recently, Erin has been recognized by several organizations including but not limited to Continental Who's Who, a 2014 VIP Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women, and recognized for Family, Career and Community by the International Women's Leadership Association for her volunteer efforts regarding education.
Erin has been doing a series of Radio Broadcasts involving education and bringing nature into reach of children. Emergence is her second book for children as part of an ongoing project. Her first book is O'my Opossums, which is a real life adventure about raising orphaned opossums. Her photography work is featured on YouTube for a children's museum.
As Erin is busy going from project to project her time is spent furthering her own education by participating in the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots program along with other studies.
The recent publication of her current project, So You Think You Are A Good Customer ... May I Place You On Hold For A Moment, is about comedic events that have actually happened to her while working within the customer service industry. Then a biography about her father, LCDR John Keuter, Jr., will follow along with a biography about her brother. With her humor despite the tragedy both books promise to bring insight about being raised in North Idaho. The titles will be Tailspin - A Daughter Surviving A Survivalist Father and He Was Heavy Because He Was My Brother - A Tale of Two Adoptees.
Her adult son has autism and still resides with her. She is married and resides in Coeur d' Alene, ID with Todd and their eight rescue cats.
